Keeper necessity

If you wanted Robles to be poor then the miscontrol on the edge of his box which he cleared makes him the worst goalkeeper of all time

If you didn't want Robles to be poor then the several good saves and clean sheet mean he didn't really have a bad game...

Take your pick
Yes but some fans think our transfer war chest will buy a new team paying top wages too, if Robles is that bad then sell him?
We will be lucky if we sign 4-5 players two or three have to be big signings, if we get a great no 1 then IMO Robles is surplus to requirements as we have signed a no 2 keeper already!
I feel Stones will be sold to boost our transfer budget!

I'm told Robles was poor today?
Couple nice saves but his handling and kicking were below par and he pretty much palmed the ball directly back at a Barnsley player who should have finished better. Against better finishing he'd have conceded a couple that he might have dealt with. Also looked shaky coming out for crosses. Need an upgrade still I'm afraid.

He messed up a bit made some good saves in front of a young inexperienced defence, his distribution was ok, kept a clean sheet is he the answer only Koeman knows?

I very much hope he's not the answer. But you're right. Who knows. He may be starting against Spurs.

not even anywhere near as bad as what people said. did one weird then whe he misjudged a ball he couldn't pick it up because he was out of his box and just sort of shinned it. and one shot he palmed back into a dangerous area. Nobody's perfect though. His handling from crosses was fine, came for them and always handled them fine. People don't want him as number 1 and aren't fully confident in him which is fine, i'm neither of those things either, but i don't hawk on him and look for things that aren't there. We tend do have our select few who can do no right it seems.

Gotta be a hard life as a back up keeper. You don't get on the paddock much & when you do, one mistake & you're done! Robles had a perfect opportunity to impress when Howard was injured and possibly announce himself as a No. 1, if not to us then another club perhaps.

If RK was shaking his head on the sidelines then I feel it's not going well for Robles. Chance blown, again.

Joel has had a few chances to impress.

For me he has done ok but never really filled me with confidence.

I'm afraid he is not good enough to be our No.1 going forward.

Think Stickleback is the number 2 keeper, Begovic or a German keeper as number 1.

Robles sold to Pete at Blackpool beach who owns the donkeys.
Thats harsh if Robles had a few seasons under his belt instead of playing the real Donkey in Howard then we might have not needed a keeper only Koeman will decide, this time last year the fans were singing Money could not buy Stones, now that we supposed to have a large transfer kitty we are open to offers!
How time changes, anyone would think we can buy 11 top signings + wages to improve that team who have we signed so far?????????

RK was shaking his head at every misplaced pass so in your view hes going to buy 11 new players!

Well, not seeing the game, I can only go on the match report & they only mentioned him shaking his head at Robles. If you'd like to give us a minute by minute account, then I'll adjust my post accordingly.

Strange we haven't sorted this by now tbh. If we want Begovic then why the delay? Unless we want Krul (who is still recovering from injury)

I seen the game the commentators - on Evertontv - Graham Stuart, and Ian Snodin only mention Koeman shaking his head when passes went astray - as for Robles he made two errors one on a back pass he miscontrolled for a corner, one were he got caught in no mans land coming to collect a ball - other than that he made three very good saves caught the ball on crosses well not a great game for him, but certainly not a poor performance hence clean sheet, but no worse than other players other than Aiden McGeady who looks awful!
I seen the game and if you want to be picky you could have been ok.

Why did we sign an aging unheard Keeper who the Fulham fans were glad to see the back of?
In fact he is that injury prone they forgot he was on the books - but hey lets see him play surprised yesterday he did not get 45 minutes he was available on the bench?
