Mandanda is a top quality goalkeeper, if he was under contract he'd cost upwards of £10m and just because he's not a fashionable German doesn't mean he wouldn't be a brilliant addition. More than anything he's widely thought of as one of the best keepers in terms of distribution in the world, something we've been crying out for for years. The idea that we shouldn't be looking at 'value' and cheap signings because we're now loaded is completely ridiculous. Sure he's not going to cost as much as Leno who's also a brilliant keeper, but that shouldn't be a slight on him.

Can't wait to be vaulted when he lets in 6 against Swansea but for now want to attempt to set the record straight.

Mandanda has poor distribution,its one of the main issues with him as a keeper as well as being Grobelaar-esque....

You want to see good distribution watch ter stegen.

This brings me to the links to Krul, Skekelenburg and Mandanda. None of these are close to having the same quality as pur rivals keepers. Mandanda seems to be a popular choice from some who see hes won awards in France...well, so what?? Is he on the same level as Lloris ? I have seen alot of posts advocating the above and other signings theyre cheap or have release clauses...so what??

To be the best you need to have the best players and we shouldnt be wasting time here with only Robles on the books...Top keepers who would consider us a step up like Leno, Rico and Butland are out there and its imperative we sign one of them.

Heck, the RS just signed Karius whose going to be top class but not at the level of the above 3. Koeman may need to assess the squad but surely he knows how important a keeper is, i mean he did sign Forster!!!

Please, lets aim for the best in this key position...i dont want the stress of having a sub-standard keeper in goal. I want to enjoy games like when we had Southall and Martyn where i could relax.

From the mumblings in the press Zat I think it's the first postion he's gonna address.

If the Mandanda rumours are true, I am thinking, as I suspected and posted yesterday, we are looking for a the best keeper at the lowest price to save funds for the many outfield needs.

Which leads me to the conclusion that all those ITKs that told us that the reported £100m being quoted in the newspapers was a bare minimum and not even close to what we have available to spend on transfers, are full of fluff.

If the names we are being linked with daily as targets are true, we can't compete with the big boys financially in the transfer market this Summer I am afraid.

I reckon our only issue in the market is the lack of CL/EL at the moment for targets. A potential stumbling block for the plans.

I put myself in the shoes of the athlete usually when thinking about the transfer market. More often than not I am not signing for Everton today.

Would take a well thought out plan for the future combined with a larger compensation package to dissuade me from joining bigger fame.
