Newcastle have confirmed that Kevin Keegan will make a dramatic return to manage the club.
The 56-year-old former Manchester City boss managed the Magpies from 1992 to 1997 and will return to St James' Park as Sam Allardyce's successor.

So your opinions about this?

Just give me a few days while I stop laughing at the joke that Newcastle are becoming.

Did you say Keegan?

Kevin "I walk away from every job I have because I'm incompetent" Keegan.

Kevin "I [Poor language removed] England over in the last game at Wembley, to Germany and didn't have the respect to interview afterwards, I just [Poor language removed] off" Keegan.

What a joke!

Good luck to them winning a few more runners up medals!
Lets see how much cash he blows this window...

Well I think us Blues are the masters of why you should never go back.

Kendall had a great reputation, and then it became tarnished as he constantly tried to bring back the good old days, but the magic had gone.

Ferguson never had the same amount of success as the towering striker that he had during his first stint.

Gravesen didn't have much before, but he an awful lot less now.

brilliant.

always comedy.

going to enjoy this. Just glad they didn't get anyone decent, as with their resources they should be competed with us easily - luckily they are run badly and the fans are delusional. They want attractive football and to win the league without a solid foundation.

good. Keegan will have lost his job come the summer however, as they skirt nearer to the wrong end of the table.

oh joy, keegan football circus back where they know comedy when they see it.

Well, taking a different perspective: new owner, he didn't hire Allardyce, and as a fan KK would be his hero. So will Keegan be given time, as in 2-3 years, to turn the cluub around? Like DM was given. If not, it'll be same old with more to laugh about. But if he's given time, he could turn them around an into UEFA Cup contenders in a couple of seasons.

But I have to agree with the "can't go back" sentiment in general.

I think Ashton is trying to appease the fans with the return of a hero whilst he finds a proper manager after Houllier and Redknapp turned him down.

He'll keep the fans happy I suppose.
I can't see it.
There is no way Keegan can reassemble the a squad anywhere near the quality he had in 1995.Way back then he had Ginola at his finest, Tino Asprilla, Peter Beardsley, and that racist **** Ferdinand up front.

The Geordies are over the moon, the messiah has returned. Keegan a better manager than Sam, My arse... disaster looms and I'm lovin' it.

the mistake they make is that the premiership has changed, tactics have changed, managerial approaches have changed.

Keegan hasn't. He proved his tactical acumen for both England and City - jobs that Sven handled and is handling (compare his England vs McClarens - we only ever lost one qualifying game, I think, under SGE) with a far superior degree of skill.

OK sven had money to spend, but he knows how to make a team strong, defensively sound - never Keegans best attribute. Keegan's squads usually lack discipline - something the newcastle squad already possesses.

I can only see it getting worse for Newcastle and would be staggered to see this result in success. Chances are a new manager will be on the cards come summer.

They should have a bit of style going forward though. And will sport all the buoyancy of the titanic at the back.

Keegan's history, on wiki anyway there is a theme running through his managerial career. RESIGNED, QUIT, WALKED OUT, LEFT, JUMPED SHIP, not once was he sacked when he should have been.

Should be fun though! Could be a cunning move he and Shearer are the only ones whi would be given any thime! Keegan with Money Hmm ... I just wonder!

Im gonna put my neck out there and say maybe hes the right appointment for the right club, que shearar for no 2 IMO!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAQ

Does that convey my thoughts?

NUFC FOR THE DROP!!!!
