So, is Mageye Gaye classed is classed as "Youth" - Velios I understand, I didn't expect him to play for the first team, but I was under the impression from last year's pre season that Gaye was a good shout for the first team, was injured for part of the season thus did not come into the team until late in the season. Just seems expedient to exclude him to make a point.

Explain?

Well yes he is youth. We signed him when he was 19 ffs.

The kind of signings we're longing after are those that most other teams make every window; players who can walk straight into the team. Players who strengthen your team immediately.

We signed him in the summer of 2010, he's just turned 21 years old, being born on 6th July 1990, so he was 20 when he signed for us. Does that make him a "youth"? And does it make my query any less relevant?

Apologise about mispelling his name.

It would ruin the thread that's why they " forgot " to include Gueye.

I know it's a negative time but people are going way way over the top on this.

Look at Aston Villa and Tottenham two clubs a similar size to us , similar wages, similar history and probably the same expectations. Villa have sold three of their best four players this season in Friedal, Young and Downing and in recent years have lost Milner and Barry again two of their best players. Tottenham have had a very good season or two but have not signed any players and their star man Modric wants out.

I know the situation isnt good at our club we should be able to add at least one £10m player a season withot having to sell first but people are going over the top probably due to the fact our friends across the park are spending millions.
