My dad is a Bayern fan (even though he won't admit it for some reason) and we used to watch every match together and Bernat is class, I tell you. If it weren't for Alaba he'd be starting all the time. He can handle the ball, he can defend, he's quick, he knows the game of football. The thing that sets Alaba apart from him most is his shooting ability and his ability to just power through defenders in the midfield regions, he's not quite the offensive threat as is Alaba. But regarding who we have at left back right now he'd be a multiple level upgrade. I can't see him ever being as exposed as Cuco was against Tottenham and he won't struggle in sprinting duels as Bainsey does these days. I say get him in and don't be too cheap, he's 24 and could give us a massive boost regarding defensive stability but also tactical versatility going the other direction.
