Jose Mourinho is boss

What do you mean make a point?

I make a post saying that the Mourinho's first chelsea team is the best ever PL team ever and you reply saying runner up arsenal was better.
Any person would think you were talking about the Arsenal's Invicibles as being better than that Chelsea team who walked the league but you're choosing the Arsenal team who finished 2nd that year 12 points behind and conceded 36 goals and scored "more",erm okay.

Pity they didn't have bonus points for goals scored that season, arsenal would have been champions.
You are right in that the comparison was being made between the 2003-04 Arsenal team and the Chelsea team the following season. I wouldn’t use the word “invincible”, they got humped in Europe, and but for Pires’ cheating by sticking out a leg to kick a Portsmouth defender and diving for a pen they would have lost in the league...they also drew a shed load of games. Still a great achievement to go unbeaten regardless of the way it’s done, but shouldn’t be over valued.

The Chelsea team of ‘05 was more balanced than the Arsenal team of the previous season. Arsenal were far more pleasing on the eye with a more fluid style of play, but Chelsea had a machine like efficiency. Losing to the RS in the CL semi-final puts a dent in the overall standing of that Chelsea team though.

His style is becoming outdated. His main man Pogba is a complete nothing player.
Fans are much less tolerant of negative football than previous. Barcelona are the one club that have always demanded an attacking, entertaining way of playing, which is why they turned down Mourinho when he approached them for the managers job. Fans of other teams are now catching up to that way of thinking. Even lower team are requiring more...Pulis is now deemed a dinosaur when previously he would have been much in demand.

Man Utd’s three years of Moyes and Van Gaal has left them desperate so they took Mourinho. The turgid stuff he serves up is wrecking the brand, boring the millions of fans they have around the world, so I will be amazed if he’s there beyond next season.

is wrecking the brand,
God save us, when did any club become a "brand". Pseudo marketing babble from sharp suited teenagers.
Thinking of football as a brand is what got us into this hideous shatstorm of a Premier League. A few a the top gluttoning away chucking the crumbs to the rest of us. The owners of West Ham continue to act like feudal chieftains while a couple of pitch invaders are treated like serial killers.
Football is eating itself. We are all helping.

Still want him here if ever possible. He tends to do better when his team are the underdogs, Porto/Inter etc. over the ones that are expected to win Real/Utd and he went back with Chelsea as they had won the CL not too long beforehand.

Can't get much more of an underdog than us. I'm expecting our own CL win when he joins. :drunk:

Good coach, but his champions league years came from working with underdogs. Most of the world class teams he has coached haven't bought into his footy, and for good reason. It is soul crushing,

What is wrong with you? lol

You were making out the Chelsea team was an 'attacking juggernaut' when their win was quite obviously based on their defence.

Dearie me, bed time for you methinks. lol lol
They beat lots of teams that season home and abroad scoring 3-4 goals quite a few times in the league, they also scored 4 goals against both Bayern and Barca.

Not sure how many pace goals they scored though, with Robben and Duff on the wings.

Ever since he left Chelsea the first time he hasn't been the same. People used to look forward to seeing what he said. Now he just looks depressed all the time.

There was a time when the wingers he had to choose from were duff, Wright Phillips, joe Cole and robben. With the spine of cech Terry lampard and drogba.

He had basically started off as pep guardiola and has now turned into Rafael benitez. This is a guy at one time before the league had even started said he was going to win the league.

Ars

How did Arsenal outscore them comfortably.

Arsenal invincibles scored 73 conceded 26 drew 12 GD 47 Points 90.
Chelsea 04-05 scored 72 conceded 15 drew 8 GD 57 Points 95.

Chelsea for me everyday over the invicibles.

Better defensively, could shut a game down winning by a single goal or beat you 3-4-5 nil.

As opposed to the arsenal side who didn't lose a game?

Sky and the lot saw to that. I know you aren't an Everton supporter but, hell, we even encouraged it. When football cared more about the Sky package than attendance, it became a "brand"
