I think the lad has a lot of ability and could be something special. Watched him in the warm up games a few years back, he was 16 and to put it bluntly he was 2 steps ahead of most of the other players in blue shirts.

Scored an absolute beauty at Forest and then came on in the opener against Blackburn and nearly scored with his first touch. It would have made him the youngest goal scorer in Prem. history, yet another for the blues. The last time I looked, admittedly a few years back I think we had 5 out of the 10 youngest players to score in the Prem.

He hasn’t got a lot of pace but like Ossie I think he is very balanced and has the speed of his brain to help.

Scored lots of goals as a kid I believe, but hi size and lack of pace would always be against him at the top level to play upfront. I think he has been playing central midfield but with an attacking nature in the Reserves. If he is top goal scorer as Alio states then great we need a goal scoring midfielder. I know he scored a cracker in the last minute to beat Liverpool earlier in the season as well.

Jose can be a bit aggressive as well from what I’ve seen which is no problem for most of us blues as it always gets the crowd up as well.

Would love to see him progress but worried that the central midfield is tough for a young kid to play in the Prem. And we all know the Boss likes to blood them in the wide areas of the pitch which, a bit like Ossie again, could see the less patient of our Brethren giving the kid stick.

Would love to hear the thoughts of AB on this one as I’m sure he’d have an opinion.

The line-up AB posted suggests he played up front on his own against the ****e.

Has anyone ever had a look at Jose's twitter? It raises a smile. Posted this the other night.

I do hope this lad makes it as he seems a passionate blue, I also think his position might end up being right-midfield from what i've heard.

He was raised red though, Istanbul videos on his MySpace and all that, don't forget.

He does seem properly converted now though.

Just my opinion but I think those who've written off Baxter are being a bit hasty. Scored a lot of goals in the reserves this year & as someone posted above, someone at the club obviously rates him.

I think I love him for the fact he's called Jose....Come on, that's pretty ace for an English lid

You can't be crap and be called Jose?!

Have just seen that on the AB thread, Maybe he can but I think the difference between reserves and 1st team is a large one. TBH I think photo with Dunc sort of shows that size angle.

As I said I think he is a great little player and has got some balls as well.

Does anyone remember us hanging on to Ossie for a while when we thought he was goin to be too small and not going to make it. Think he had spells at Carlisle and Derby (poss somewhere else too?). Late developer, perhaps Baxter will prove to be one too. Hope he is a new Osman and not a new Kissock. You could say that Moyes at least got them two right. Not sure I would have. Thought JP had a real chance. Shame
