Jose Baxter: No Regrets

Took balls to walk away from a contract, he isn't the only one in the last few years. Forshaw and Wallace spring too mind as two who seemed highly rated but obviously didn't feel they had a real chance of breaking through.

I think we have 5 or so players who need to break through in the next year or they'll miss the boat. Hopefully under Martinez they'll get a chance preseason to show whether or not they can cut th mustard

If he'd been an inch taller or timed his jump better by half a second in that one game to snatch a point against Blackburn, I think his whole career could have been different.

Regardless of his problems in the past, he seems to have his head screwed on properly now. Perhaps the reality check of having to move back home with his parents helped him sort out his priorities. Good luck to him.

And whether or not he could have turned out to be premier league quality, I think there can definitely be a case made that he was mismanaged. Wasn't there some kind of minor controversy with he and James Wallace on twitter?

Good for him. For every success there is a situation where the opposite is the case - I heard Kissock has given up football.

He was a bad knob, end of. Belted a lad (from behind) in the Black Horse on Xmas Eve who was dressed as an Elf, out with his mates and his bird. Lad cracked his head open when he fell. That Cracker was with him then. Although the lad he belted and his mates are well known MMA fighters around Walton. Jose was not seen around there again after word went out he was a wanted man. (All here say of course)

As others have said above, thought he was a gangster then cacked it once he hit the wrong lad.

Thats what I think. Always had high hopes for him so I wish him all the best for his career.

Jose punched a mixed-martial arts fighting elf in the head at christmas? Decent story, thanks for sharing.

Boss story isnt it lol

I seen the lad on Christmas day (couple years back) in the Taxi club with his head glued together. He actually may have been Father Christmas and his mate was the elf. Was laughing at the situation but talking about what was planned for Jose.

The people that aggressively judged and still judging Baxters personal life from his teenage years need to get their heads out of their arse.
If you were judged for your teenage years, how would that look? Add money and fame to that mix. For some, me included, would be a recipe for disaster.

got friends of friends with jose, cracking lad by all accounts. best of luck to him. could end up in the prem one day, you never know.
