I am not trying to be controversial but looking at Raya tonight he is the type of keeper that relieves pressure. He is always off his line and doesn't depend on his CB's to be able to beat the opposition striker as he will claim it. Pickford does not command his box and if our CB's are beaten to a cross then it will result in either a goal or great chance. I do believe he is one of the better shot stoppers in the league but without command of his box takes away the title of a great. It is my only problem with Picks. I do like a keeper that can and will take crosses with ease to reduce the chance ratio.
Don't get me wrong I do like Pickford but he does have a glaring weakness.

Was the corner right into him the only save he made tonight? Can’t think of anything else that tested him

His kicking was Grade A crap tonight. Think that's the only thing he needed to do tonight as I can't remember him needing to make a save.

I'm a big fan of Pickford...but I've always marveled at his reputation for distribition. He's eight years at the club now and I still don't know where this reputation as a great distributor comes from...

makes our s8de defend too deep - great shot stopper- cannot dominant in the air or commanding his box always been the case - but a great shot stopper !

Genuinely never been impressed by Raya tbh. Good save yesterday, mind, so maybe that's not strictly true, but I'm happy with Pickford even given his aversion to crosses.
