As a man who saw Southall at his best, I have to say Pickford is on a par. He's fantastic and this is great news. He really gets us

Agree. I saw Southall, too, and he was great, but so is Pickford, as you say, on par. I think Southall has also become something of an untouchable for many Evertonians, but actually he was a disruptive element several times whereas Pickford has NEVER caused a stir, even when EFC was in a right mess.

How’s he meant stop a bullet header from 6 yards out from the best striker in the world when both of his CBs were ball watching? The second takes a slight nick of Tarkowski and it gets away from him. If it weren’t for him it could’ve been 4-0 at the end.

I understand his desire to protect his kids, but he did bring his son out onto the pitch with him for a televised PL game.

You can’t have total privacy and also do that - which he will of course recognise and accept.
