I don't agree Azz...

We got either of them players you mention they'd cost around the same as the figure we've ended up from the JL sale, whereas Senderos is a little similar to JL(in a way) is lets say £3-6M..+ what's left(if any)for another signing.

Say we sell for £22M and buy Hangeland or Cahill for £12M (which is probably not enough at this stage since they know we are desperate for a new CD). Leaves £10M.

£1.7M of those goes to Wolves. Leaves £8.3M. Then we need decent cover for the LB position, say £4M. Leaves £4.3M. Now what player would you sign for that amount that would be a big improvement to our current starting 11? And this is with the hope that nothing goes to reduce our debt, which is very likely

+ the £6million we probably have to spend this year anyway.

£10million to improve our squad - not bad if you ask me.

Agreed... not bad.. awful.

Weaken the most important part of the pitch (apart from the goalie) just to get £4M more?

Better a straight sell of Anichebe for £4M then... or a few reserves to raise that figure.

Not buying Gary Cahill or Hangeland would cost £25million mate.

Cahill or Hangeland wouldn't be £15million.

And I said sign one.

If Lescott goes it will be between £22million and £25million.

£12million for Cahill or Hangeland, good price imo, considering the price we would have just received for Lescott, and there's £10million for Davey to do what ever he wants with.

But, once again, we're [Poor language removed] at attracting players. Even if we match Fulham and Bolton's offers (and both have said they don't want to sell), we have to convince the players to come. And not [Poor language removed] to Spurs instead when Wobbly Head inevitably offers them £1 million pounds a week and a free elephant ride.

If we sell Lescott and then our targets turn us down, what then?

And you've got someone you wont need to replace for 7 years.

Gary Cahill is quality, I'm telling you.

Lescott is 27, we don't need to replace him either for 7 years. Lescott is a better option than Cahill.

Lescott will look for a move in the next year, if not this year.

If City get CL this year, as if he's going to hang around here.

Then what? Gary Cahill could have a great season, Bolton say £20million or go 'uck yourself, Hangeland goes to Arsenal. Who do we buy?

Lescott isn't loyal to our club, he's not a blue, he'll go to City any day of the week for £90k.

So if you think he'll still be here in 7 years, then I'm just shocked tbh.

All I'm saying is, we are going to be in this situation next year, if not maybe in January, when City are sniffing back round Lescott, and he's going to want to go again.

Why wait till next year? We may as well cash in on him now.
