like kenada said, we'd be selling to a direct rival, improving them while weakening us, great plan! No doubt Fulham see us as a rival now that they're looking to chllenge for a European place, they could employ the same strategy.

And I agree, Cahills not that good.

United are a massive club and not Wigan's main rivals...and Wigan wouldnt hold out for stupid money, they made a good deal.

Citeh arent a massive club and are our rivals so why sell to them?

And Gary Cahill is rubbish. Rather have Senderos.

How many times have you seen him?

'Cos you are talking out your arse.

Yeah, like you've had tabs on Gary Cahill for seasons? Dont talk wet mate, you're just throwing defenders around trying to prove that we could get someone "better" than Lescott - Distin, Hangeland, Cahill, Campbell...if they were [Poor language removed] hot, we'd have had them, even as back up if they're that cheap...but they're not according to Moyes which is why we're in for Senderos. Would he be on your radar as good as Gary Cahill?

You do know that Megson slapped a £20mill price tag on him? And Senderos has far more experience than him at the same age and cheaper.

Nah, but I've clearly watched him more than you. Your chattin' bollocks.

Watch Hangeland go to Arsenal and then you'll actually see him play, and I guarantee you you'll say "Oh yeah, I'd of had him".

No ones saying Hangelands not good but both him and Cahill would cost alot of money, no improvement on Lescott whatsoever

Most players can look good in a good team.

But getting £22M for Lescott is a bad deal for us. £1.7M would go to Wolves, at least £15M would go to a replacement for him and a part would most likely go to pacify the bank so it wouldn't leave us much to strengthen the team with. When you look at it that way, it's a horrible deal for us.

Regarding Wigans sale they are in another situation. With the money they got for Valencia they could most likely strengthen various positions in their team. Much like we did when we sold Rooney. Now however we've reached another lvl and the players needed to improve our starting 11 are more expensive, so we won't be able to sell one or our current players to get 3-4 players in that will strengthen our first 11.

Hangeland would cost a significant amount, wouldn't be an improvement on Lescott, is older than Lescott, doesn't offer Lescotts goalscoring tendency or versatility, meaning left back cover is also required meaning higher wage bill.

This is nearly worse than the pathetic "Ooooh someone was in the Directors box shaking someones hand - is it Witsel?" - Especially with Witsel playing for Liege 24 hours earlier.
