Joke Takeover or Kenwright

Blackburn after Ronaldinho ..This is why I am wary of a Takeover and I know we struggle with funds and alot of people dislike Kenwright as chairman yadda yadda..

But I would rather us plod along and compete like we have done under Kenwright and Moyes..I dislike the way Moyes sets up and the football we play under him and hope he would change things around a little..

But I would rather have Moyes in charge and Kenwright overseeing things then a takeover over which sees them Sack a Manager (Allardyce) for no apparent reason and start bringing in past star players on fat wages and not giving a toss..

We are in a good place and have people running the club with traditions at heart and care for the longevity of the club..(y)

Joke takeover?

How is it a joke? They bought the shares and are, in fact, the club's new owners. Now they've made money available in the transfer window. Now, you'll say it was a phantom bid for Ronaldhino. Well they've made a rod for their own back if it was. Blackburn fans will hold them to some big spending this transfer window now they've been told they have that sort of cash.

One thing's for sure: they'll spend more than Everton do.

Even if Ronaldhino isn't a shade of his former glory, his name and marketing ability will definately have a positve effect on Blackburn as a football club.

The benefits from signing him would greatly outweigh and negatives received from a lack of performance, even if he just played rubbish for the rest of the year but managed to sneak in 2-3 wondergoals, Blackburn would get alot more international attention then most other clubs in the PL.

Spot on. This is what City did with their Kaka bid. I'd expect them to raise the club's morale and profile, but then to bring in two or three realistic signings with the blessings of a manager they have in mind to fill Steve Kean's boots in the new year.

It's sad to think that they may only be buying him as a profitable bit of business, regardless of how he performs on the pitch at all.

Shirt sales + Marketing + raising the clubs profile, could, if done by a savvy food salesman, be more lucrative than the amount they end up shelling out.

No?

I wouldn't want my club buying a player to dress the club in shiny tinsel so the world can see us..The world see us anyway without getting an has bin player..We can buy all the players we want if we had the money and not have them function as a team and it all go to [Poor language removed]..Maybe I am too old school for today's footballing world..

That's probably what some Evertonians in the early 1960s said when John Moores bought the club and gave Catterick the money to buy two Championship winning sides. The Mersey Millionaires. To be consistent mate you'd now have to not recognise the validity of the 1963 and 1970 titles.

Agreed. But from an outsider looking into Blackburn, this may be the case. Tinsel town looks pretty to some.

Think you've hit it spot on there, but that's not a criticism. It's got to a point where good, honest footballing sides just can't compete (at the top) the way they are currently operating.

Today's football, with your Man Cities/Chelskies/etc. is starting to remind me of playing computer games with cheat mode on...unlimited money...beat everyone...get bored.
