There’s times when he is a liability and a goal conceded waiting to happen - back when he was here and still now - but he’d be comfortably the best footballer in our back line and maybe top 3 or 4 in the whole squad, and that’s what we need.
Better footballers who can accept the ball and play it on without their first touch forcing them into a 50/50.
I’d even accept paying 30-40m for him as with the way fees have gone in the time since we sold him that is actually decent value now.
He’s got to be considering his options where he is on the pecking order at city now, and city must be thinking about strengthening at centre half so I think this could be a good deal for all parties.
