Just reading some of the comments, i love my City, but Liverpool really needs to get over itself about people being 'wools'. It used to be banter but now it's like 'if ya a wool then your a ming' type feeling. Don't get it. People from Runcorn, St Helens etc are sound as...

That's a classic comment from 'Felix' though:

"...it would be adding insult to injury if he got their kid to do the lads portrait."

Apparently he thought 'yer Ma' was worth going to war over. He'd be chewing the keyboard if he posted on this forum.

My mate went to the gig and said he was an embarresment - and from the reaction after the outburst the rest of the crowd agreed.
Bet if the had been doing a old fashioned working mans club - the heckler would have obliged him and took him outside and tvvated the cnut

He's only slightly funnier than the average scouser. It's just a case of the Southerners going "Oh, isn't that Northern fellow rather funny. I like his working class humour. Tally ho."

When in reality I bet we all know many people funnier than John Bishop. He's funny, don't get me wrong. Just not that funny. Or consistently funny. Or likeable.

A comedian is not worth is salt if he can't take heckling, pathetic.

NEXT.

Good comedians thrive off of it, and unleash their own quick put-downs.

Noel Fielding, as much as I now detest him, was amazing when I saw the Mighty Boosh live. Some tool was trying to be a smart arse, and he just kept putting him down instantly. He's a tit, and not a good live comedian, but I'll give him credit -- he's got a quick wit.

Dara O'Brien's a good one too. He doesn't get heckles, so much as people shouting out random things, but he incorporates it into his comedy well and responds instantly; very quick-witted.

Well said. He's just a scouser trying to make a living by acting out a persona to a non-scouse audience. Bet quite a few Kopites find him mildly embarrassing as well as people like us. I first saw him on the Michael McIntyre thing (he's another tit...) last year and found him reasonably funny - nowt special like but raised a laugh.

In the time since then, he's gone all BBC - got his own tv special and even appeared on Radio 4s 'Just a Minute' complete with Nicholas Parsons. Crikey they don't come much more establishment than that. When he's on that programme he plays a sort of parody of a cheeky scouser - when two contestants disagree with each other he pipes up with "Can I just say that this is the poshest argument I've ever been in...."

He's a caricature really - found hisniche and is getting paid for it.

Downside is that it just reinforces the view held in the south about Merseyside. "Don't go there, Jemima. They steal the wheels of ones Range Rover....
