I agree, it’s given to anyone lately who had a decent game it seems.

But out of the so called legends we have left alive, I’d say he deserves to be respected and regarded as one. He won the League with us as a player and FA Cup as a manager. How many employees can we say have done that?

Always remember as a first year in senior school watching Joe play for the U-15 team on a Saturday morning on our playing fields at Mather Ave...he was absolute class then...Enjoy a well deserved retirement ..you have earned it

I met him at an Everton Legends night with Howard Kendall, and Derek Temple.

He is a gentleman and has time for everyone.
