Player Valuation: £500k
He has come out recently saying he is willing to leave Everton if he doesn't get game time when he returns from his loan with Vitoria de Setubal. I for one believe he has a bright future having watched some of the Portuguese matches online. Also heard rumours of Benfica wanting him. He is a big lad and can head the ball rather well. If you watch some of his goals from last season on youtube, he gets in the right positions and one of his goals for Portugal U21's is a belter. With our striking options not great at the moment I can't understand why we sent him on loan again...AT ALL!

He doesnt like England or rather he didnt like playing for the Reserves in England.

Either way, he will be sold as soon as somebody bids cash money.

Has anyone got any evidence saying he's homesick or doesn't like England?

I've seen a lot of posters saying it but none have used any quotes or linked anything. I'm not saying it's not true, rather I just want confirmation that it is.

Didnt chico say that the coaching staff rate him but he cant settle in England/Liverpool and was home sick in another Joao Silva thread?.

Chico is the 4th best sauce you know!

I hope that he's not getting homesick. He seems like a pretty good player, and looks really lively.

Is it a full season loan that he's on? Or just until January?

Quotes from a recent interview with portugoal.net (25/09/11):

"When I left Everton we reached an agreement because I'm a young player but I need to play. I need to get my match rhythm, I need to gain maturity, and without playing that's difficult, so we agreed that going out on loan would be a good option. Now I hope things go well for me and that David Moyes is attentive so that one day I am called again and I get my opportunity, which I haven't had yet.

Of course, if a big club in Portugal came in for me, it would be an option to consider, and I'd have to see who offered the best conditions and then think about it. Everton are a big club, but I need opportunities and a club that has confidence in me and gives me opportunities."

Make of that what you will.

Rated 70 on (FIFA12) .. Up from 65 (FIFA11)

I almost recalled him from loan, but I will let the lad play in his homeland before I utilize him.

From his interview he said he wanted a Loan cos he wanted to play first team football.

This is my point. Nowhere can I find anything about him being "homesick", just him wanting to play first team footie.

He's actually said there that he's hoping he can get into the Everton fold:

"Now I hope things go well for me and that David Moyes is attentive so that one day I am called again and I get my opportunity, which I haven't had yet."

Young.

A striker.

Wants to play.

Is scoring goals for someone else.

The f@ck is going on at our club FFS.

Recently departed/loaned/almost Everton strikers have scored 19 top flight goals so far this season (Silva, Yakubu, Johnson, Rooney, Ba).

Actual Everton strikers, even if we include Cahill in that, have scored 1 top flight goals so far this season (Vellios v Wigan).
