According to the Soccernet transfer blog, there is talk that Silva has gone back to Setubal for the season.

I was hoping to see a bit more of him this season. I'm getting the strong suspicion he may not be cut out for the Premier League any time soon...

Edit:
Meh. Apologies...just saw that it has been reported in other threads.

He actually played for Leira last season I think.

Either way he did okay from what I heard. Even if he doesn't make it here, I'm sure someone in the Portugese league would want him. We might make a bit of dosh.

good for him! If he comes back I'm sure he will be brimming with confidence, if not we make a little bit of cash. Personally I'm rooting for him to come back and give some of our strikers a good challenge.

from the daily Mail (sadly)
Everton striker Victor Anichebe will be the target of a £3million bid from Championship big spenders Leicester.

It won't do us much good. Would have preferred to loan him to a Championship team to develop his English skills and knowledge of English football. Seems to indicate he has no future at GP this. Why not just sell him back to Portugal if that's the case?

What Basil said. Worrying that he's being sent to Portugal, exactly how good is he at this adaptation thing?

The fact he's been behind McAleny and Vellios in terms of getting game time this preseason tells us he's either dumb, gash or both.

He was total gash playing for the reserves a couple of times recently although people have said he was good on loan last year.

When he comes back from his loan he'll only have a year left on his contract. Either we're going to have to offer him an extension soon or we sell him. Perhaps we bought him as an investment and we're loaning him back to Portugese clubs (rather than English ones) because he's in the shop window for a move to a team in his native country? If our intention is to develop him as a future player for us, it's an odd way of going about it.
