Jermain Defoe

He's too similarly is style to Beckford, he's better than him like buy we need another type of striker to play alongside him, or whos comfortable playing alone up front.

Basically what I've been saying for 4 months.

Cheers, you furry whopper.

I think we are two conditioned into the system, Andy Johnson - apart from the Yak "that season" made a good fist of playing the role up front as a smaller more mobile instinctive striker. Theres an arguement to be made. I think its worthwhile analyseing the whole system, when you look whats coming from the flanks and from deep, its tricky from a back four perspective.

So basicly im right haha.

I cant see Defoe been sold for 7mill maybe add another 3-5 on top of that I reckon.

We`ll never sign Defoe. But I`m thinking Defoe and Beckford or Defoe and Saha or even Defoe and Anichebe seems a very good front pairing.

I can dream!!!

Oh! re: Kharine! I remember those cards, from the 95/96 season! All the kids at my school collected those. I remember the Barry Horne card with particular fondness. And this:

I'm begining to think Everton shut up shop and moyes turned off his phone for the summer holidays. Back in work monday so maybe thats when the wheels will start turning and we'll start to see some transfer rumours, ...or at least we'll be linked with players before Redknapp nips in and signs them for 200k per week in his attempt to bankrupt spurs

Oh do I hate this time of year...rumour after rumour, 40 years following the Blues , I really should know by now not to build my hopes up.

I cant see us getting Defoe, he must be on great money at Spurs, £60,000 a week or more, we cant pay that, not to mention the transfer fee he will go for.

Also as much as I like Defoe, I couldnt see him playing much in the 4-5-1 formation that Moyes favours.

He is primarily a goal poacher and someone who is useful on the break. I think we need a Target Man, someone to hold the ball up and bring the midfielders into play
