He needs straq upfront...

..and Beattie wasnt that bad!

I said before he signed that based on what I'd seen when he was at Rangers he needed a partner. That feeling is more than confirmed on the evidence so far. At a stretch against Scottish defences he could do the lone striker role. No chance down here, and he looks less than happy having to deal with the responsibility.

I feel like he would need someone with an eye for pass behind him, like Osman. Thus far if he's had a support striker the problem has been it's another lanky fella and they are easily fighting for the same hoofballs with similiar positioning. Maybe McAleny would be a good pair for him?

Does anybody have numbers on how many attempts he's taken so far in his career? From what i've gathered he only gets one or two chances to shoot per game, and when he's done so it's been from pretty tight situations. Something needs to be done with our attacking.

He's not going to be amazing is he, 5mil for a striker at prime age, what do you expect. I think he looks like he'll take chances if he's given them, but at the same time I can't see him making and scoring a goal on his own. Could maybe do with being a bit stronger on the ball as well, he's got the frame to be a handful.

Looks like he could be decent but he's getting nothing by way of service.

Falls over too much as well. Needs to stop that sharpish or the crowd will turn on him a lot quicker.

The way he went down under Vermaelens challenge had me cringing , could have had an opportunity on goal had he stayed on his feet .

Isolated up front by himself. Not his fault. I didn't like his going down and general whinging last night though. Not the Everton way and not what our fans generally tolerate too much.

1.Yakubu
2.Beckford
3.Saha

Any striker we play will suffer until Tim Cahill retires and Davy Moyes finds another way of playing.

Poor Denis has just been awarded player of the month yet can't get in a side which a MF who hasn't played anywhere near his full capacity for a very long time is keeping him out.

But Cahill hasnt been playing badly recently, hes doing ok at the moment.

So your point is null and void.

Has he though? He was good against Sunderland defending and minus the goal, swapped with felli for the 2nd half.

The same last night when he just kicked people.

Moyes thinking hes not capable off a striker and felli is? That Cahill can be a defensive mid? Tis odd

Sure, he's been an improvement recently on the majority of the lst 2 seasons.

Doesn't mean he's been playing well though.

When he starts contributing more to the team as a attacking mid/support striker then running around a lot, fouling players and being offside he'll be playing well.

But thats not going to happen so he needs to be replaced.

The fact that we do look more dangerous with Fellaini in his position says everything about Cahill these days.

And before anyone starts, yes i love the guy for everything he done for this club, has been brilliant for us but his time is passed and 3 times LMA manager of the year needs to open his eyes and see that.

Completely agree. I love Cahill but the fact that he is so out of form that Felli needs to play his position is a major problem.
