2025/26 Jarrad Branthwaite

He was training on the grass & the same Hammy went again - hence another operation ....
Is this for real? There has been no report of a new operation. If thats the case he is done as a footballer. In best case scenario, he will be out for the rest of the season.

Needed another operation on the same hamstring...
Joey, are you talking about the operation he had on 21st Oct (after joining training and breaking down) or are you saying he’s had a further op since the end of Oct when this was posted:

It sounds like the latter which I’m unconvinced of as he not been ‘back on the grass’ since the October op iirc.

So either a 23 year old footballer will never play again or he'll be back in about 7 months. It's a flip of a coin when you put it like that...

I doubt he meant literally. It would definitely cast major questions about his ability to play top level football if it was true he was literally breaking down and needing an operation on his hamstrings every time he returned to training. Luckily that’s not the case and he’s still recovering from the initial operation, as it was always pretty obvious he would be.

Yep - but I feel he may be out for a long time .....

I know I know, I just having a bit of fun at "he's either dead or back soon". I would be very surprised if he's in any matchday squad this side of 2026 let alone playing. He's a valuable asset and the club will no doubt take a long term view on his situation, even if it means a full season out (it would stop the big teams bidding for him at very least). Methinks some people saying his career is 'done' when he has a relatively typical injury with 10-12 years of his career left to go is a bit over-reactionary.

I have a feeling he's being sold and the stuff around the injuries is being way inflated.

I dont think he'll be here next season - maybe not even after January. 🤷‍♂️

The post about him being done was in response to the suggestion that he’d broken down AGAIN and had ANOTHER operation though, which hasn’t happened. My point is that if it had happened then it really would be time to start worrying about his top level career and so the post wouldn’t actually be that over the top.
