No I did not. Doesn't change the fact VN tried to buy him on the cheapYou do realise PSV's most expensive player is €15m.

I think the Debt's will be the first thing looked at by 'Friedkin'. You'd expect A Businessman like him would already have planned for that, knowing what he's getting himself into. He won't let any players leave for under value, unless it's players just congesting the wage bill. Naming rights on the new stadium and telling Utd to do one over Branthwaite, There's other players we can sell on.People seem to think now that Danny F is in the hot seat things are different and they might be, when he actually enters the hot seat, till then.
As well as the near £200m debt to 777, Everton owe Cheshire-based lender Rights and Media Funding (RMF) £225m ($287m) and another £158m ($202m) to MSP. RMF's debt is secured against the club's assets, while MSP's collateral is club subsidiary that owns Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Everton has paid about £30m in interest charges to an opaque lender associated with a tax exile, corporate records suggest.
The charges appear to have reached about £438,000 a week, according to the troubled Premier League club’s most recent set of accounts, a figure more than three times the reported wages of the Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
It does really. There’s clearly players we want that we simply can’t afford. Think it’s safe to say by now with the links from reliable people, that we have more than a passing interest in Philogene. The line from Bobble is we “won’t get drawn in to a bidding war with Ipswich”. I think the more obvious reason is we simply can’t afford to rather than taking the moral stance on it.You can run a loss and be below the threshold and be PSR compliant, but we all know this.
None of that explains the financial need to sell Branthwaite, our cash flow position has/will improve significantly with the obvious equity required for the business to be supplied, some of which as we know is already invested, meeting a big chunk of the remaining LOR liability and reducing debt, thats a start.
Players will be sold but likely on the basis of risk and discretion, Onana and DCL shaped low hanging fruit. We’ve already cleared 30 -40 million in sales and costs, player trading so far, before the above two.
Even as I doubt we are at risk of not being compliant in 24/25, we can sell Branthwaite in 11 months, after he’s played 38 games and another season here if we needed to, but by that stage we could be looking forward to playing at the Toyota Stadium - with a whole year under new ownership.
The assertion it’s necessary to sell financial reasons, just isn’t true, helpful sure, necessary, no.
It’s a narrative in need of correcting.
Your right there is periods where money seems to be in the game. COVID had its impact too.People keep saying his value only increases, I could list a hundred players where that wasnt the case, of course people could name a hundred that did.
But in 2018 Dele Alli was rated as the highest value player in the entire world.
A year later Spurs couldnt give him away. (This is hyperbole, not meant to be take literally, please)
He really turned out to be a rude and a generally unlikable person. Makes me hate man utd even moreThat plastic burning tory toad Ratcliffe has just sacked 250 staff, he can raise his funds from that
You make some good points especially on our need to reinforce across the team and everyone has a price too. Just not convinced United will go to 70m which should be our benchmark, no negotiations until they hit at least that mark. The lad will only be worth more as long as he stays fit and we also have Onana and likely DCL who can be sold alongside others like Maupay, Keane, Holgate etc.It does really. There are strong links also with Jake O’Brien with even reports of bids being made by us over the weekend. You have to wonder if the club have been told that they won’t be giving up and will eventually get near to our valuation so we’re now making back up plans..
As much as we all rate Branthwaite and we all know exactly how good this boy is, would getting a 70 million offer be the worst thing in the world for us? Jake O’Brien also looks a talented centre half, he could be signed as a direct replacement for a fraction of that money. It would then arm us with the cash to properly compete for Philogene or Asprilla (or another winger with a similar profile), and still have enough for a down payment for a right back or central midfielder. As disappointing as losing yet another talented young player would be, you’d have to think the squad would and SHOULD, be stronger overall with his departure.
Hope someone bounces an egg off his barnet at GP.He really turned out to be a rude and a generally unlikable person. Makes me hate man utd even more
We can run a loss all we like once we’re PSR compliant mate, regardless that doesn’t create a need to sell Branthwaite now financially.
