Villa don't sell their best players every year and Brighton have been in the top flight for 5 minutes.

I have little sympathy for us/the none top 6 teams any longer.

Could have voted to either amend or at least increase the threshold but rejected it. All seem content minus Newcastle & Villa to be feeder clubs for the big boys.

Shame its Utd, dont have any real dislike of them but its tiring how we sell our best players to them all the time.

We sign loads of players without premier league experience that isn’t our problem it’s that recently wherever we sign them from they don’t often overperform for what we pay.

Arsenal did the same with Rice. Agreed personal terms then made several derisory offers until they met West Ham's valuation.

It seems to be the new form of officially tapping up a player.

Brighton usually have the youngster coming through the ranks ready to step up, they only tend to buy if the youngster in question is not quite ready for the first team at that particular moment.

All comes back to recruitment at the end of the day, they have an entire team of people watching every professional football match in every country, every week/weekend. They have specific player attribute criteria for every position on the pitch and when a player meets that they add them to a list for further inspection. The big thing is they are prepared to take risks though, you have to these days otherwise you lose out to the big boys, hence the key thing being player attribute criteria rather than stuff like what league a player is from, they are really not arsed about stuff like that. I long for the day we have a functioning recruitment system.
