January Transfer Window 2026

Still think tfg will back moyes in jan with some cash
After the summer window, do you trust the club to sign the right players in January?

I have my doubts.
Yes did think went for right profiles of players like tete fofana ect just didnt get the deals done. Hopefully now will be better becuause wont be every position of the pitch but maybe 1-3 players bought in. Clear that atleast two rb cf need to be sorted

Feels the credit card has been maxed out from what was paid in the summer so it will be looking at the loan market and seeing what is available. There is a World Cup so you'd think some CFs on the bench at clubs would like to get more regular game time for second half of the season and this is a prem club that could offer that player significant minutes.

As usual though that type of player will come in right at the end of January compared to the start so can only really factor them in for the February games.

Unreal player. Personally couldn’t care less about his previous troubles, nobody is perfect. He’s delivering on the pitch.
Would be a very brave English club that looked to sign him

Was it Ched Evans who was cleared of rape, yet look at all the fuss in the media / fanbases when clubs were meant to be interested in him.

Now imagine what it would be like for Everton to sign an alleged wife-beater. That's why the club won't go near him. Its not about his ability.

The Coventry RB who we could have got for 10 mil in summer Milan van Ewijk, on 5 assists already. Was a no brainier
Watched him on Saturday. He's decent on the ball and wants to get forward but even Frank "don't stress about defending lads" Lampard was screaming at him about being out of position all the time. Watford should have had 2 or 3 goals just from him being missing.

I can see why we didn't progress that one

I think that's why you're seeing the likes of Richarlison and Toney starting to crop up in conversation.

There will be some loan moves which happen in January as players need to be playing ahead of the World Cup.

That should suit us as I doubt we've got the PSR wiggle room to make a big January signing, but a loan for a competent striker who needs minutes would be right up our street.

I suppose it depends what you class as 'really good'. There were plenty of other signings who've become regular starters for their clubs. I do think sometimes people hold January signings to a higher standard - if you sign someone in the summer then them just not being a complete waste of space gets classed as a success, but in January it can feel like unless you absolutely rip it up it's seen as a waste.
There was an interesting thing that Angus Kinnear said in an interview (of all places) on ToffeeTV

He basically said that one of the major indicators of whether a signing could be classed as successful or not would be if they played at least 50% of the available minutes for the club in the season after signing.

Our esteemed leader Big Ang has already set our expectations that we won’t be spending in January, trotting out the same old baseless fluff from page 46 of the Everton CEO Act 1989 that there’s no value in the January window and we don’t want to spend for the sake of it.
I thought you were talking about Postecoglu for a second! I thought I'd missed a big announcement.
