I was a little bemused by Moyesy quoting a 'lack of viable options' to justify not bringing anyone in on loan in January
In the past we've generally had success with loan deals with Donovan being the obvious example so i couldnt understand why we didnt go in for Steven Ireland or Carlos Vela who both went on loan to less attractive clubs than ourselves
Admittedly Ireland has lost his form a bit but he was unbelievable for City a few seasons ago and hes the type of creative midfielder who can play wide or in the middle that we desperately need with losing Pienaar
Vela has scored goals for Arsenal from the bench and in the League Cup whenever hes been given the chance and hes scored crucial goals for West Brom already so with Saha being a crock and Beckford misfiring why not have a look at him?
Is it that the loan deals have a transfer fee included in them or is it that we cant afford the players wages?
Either way its a sad time when we're being beaten financially by a team who have been yo-yo'ing up and down beatween the Championship and the Prem for the last ten years...
