2025/26 James Tarkowski

Though you have to remember Tarkowski and Keane excelled together as a partnership at Burnley so Keane hasn't always held him back
Well that is blatantly untrue.
They only overlapped for a short while there, with Tarks usually coming on for Keane.
And Dyche preferred a partnership of Keane and Mee, so Tarks barely got a game.
He did get 4.5 games with Keane at the end of that season when Mee was injured, then Keane was sold to us.

Yeah, I wonder what he said!

….was wondering the same myself.

Think he might be a bit of a loner and they’ve all been working to integrate young Dibling, looked like he picked him out and it was a meaningful exchange with the playful push at the end. I’d guess it was something along the lines of ‘you played your part tonight and this is the reward, ffs keep it up’ :)

Tarkowski's stats for the season so far:

Most blocks, most clearances and most aerial duels won; second most interceptions.

Looked a shambles at times earlier this season but is coming back to some decent form again.

Think he starts every season slowly (if memory serves me right) and been carrying knock this year imo.

Should deffo improve second half of season. Him and Jake excellent last night.
Nice problem to have options at centre back.

O'Brien wasted at Full back - Rhol looked comfortable there - Tarks looked great as he had a CB with pace alongside him last night - like he had when Branthwaite was along side him - Forest threw the kitchen sink at us & those two were magnificent....
It's hard luck on Keane but it's the 2nd time it's happened this season !

Needs to be with O'Brien every game. He settles Tarkowski down.
