2024/25 James Tarkowski

For all it's cathartic to see a Liverpool player snapped by one of ours, it was a silly challenge that he was lucky to get away with.

It could've been a disastrous night if VAR had seen that differently.
Absolutely as good as winning the league pal. I’ll take their heads rolling down Anfield road over 20 league titles.

He can win the ball, be forceful, even catch the man if he likes without putting in a red card tackle.

If he can’t, he shouldn’t be playing at this level.

Yes, but watch the trajectory of the kick. He is getting rid of the ball as much as possible. He wants to make sure the ball is cleared, the ball was in the air when he made contact and therefore his kick meant his leg was rising upwards.

Go down to a pitch and recreate that without following through in an upwards trajectory. While trying to absolutely make sure the ball is cleared as far as possible. If he went in half hearted, knowing that there is a possibility that contact will be made with a player, there is a chance that he messes up the clearance.

I was also shocked that Neville was so adamant that there was no mitigation. I would hazard a guess that he has done a similar act a hundred times over and there is no doubt that if he was sent off for that he would be apoplectic with rage.

Bad one and should've been off.

He always has that slightly reckless aspect to his game and gives away a good few penalties with that trait.

Him and Branthwaite one of the best centre back pairings in the league, he has been a superb signing for us.

Macalister made that a 'reckless' challenge.

Tarkowski got the ball. End of story.

Let the self-hating Evertonians who want to impress their Kopite mates that they're "fair minded' in order to earn a little pat on the head off them have their say. But they are wrong. 100% wrong.

It’s not though is it Dave & hasn’t been for years. Only one person 100% wrong here and it’s you.

How is it when something is not right from their POV that they get an instant respone. were as we can wait forever or never hear anything about anything wrong v us (Everyone is they are honest know its a Red)

People love a still.

But to follow on from;

Agree, if a foul, it's a red.

The defender is always winning the ball - get out the way.

If Tarkowski half arses it, he could come away injured himself from a lazy/late hanging leg/stamp.

A proper tackle, momentum took him through.

Tarkowski's leg has to go somewhere after connecting with the ball.

If he half arses it, there's a hanging leg that is never competing for that ball that lands on him.
