2024/25 James Tarkowski

We have got a centre back pairing that went down with Burnley, and two useless full backs.
But that is just blatantly incorrect.

There was just one season where they overlapped at Burnley 2016-17. Tarks only started 4 games. They finished 16 and dumped Keane to us.

The following season, with Tarks taking over from Keane, they finished 7th, above Everton and in Europe

Lucky he didn’t cost us today, braindead stupidity. Never getting dropped in a million years either
Yeah exactly, if you want a culture of accountability he has to at least be considered for dropping if JB is back next game.

Kind of feels like the “never misses a minute” thing, while commendable, is becoming a bit of a millstone- his fitness doesn’t look great and his performances have been poor, so maybe it’s not good for him or us to have him in for every second of every game.

He looks so much better beside Branthwaite. A proper CB partnership where two players understand each others game is why we managed to have such a good defensive record last season. They had complete trust in each other.

No hyperbole but he's been one of our worst performers this season so far.

I know he's under tactical orders, but after you see that all of your long balls are leading to absolutely nothing, surely any player would look at mixing it up.

The incident for the penalty was utterly ridiculous from him. You wouldn't even be surprised if certain referees gave a red card for that too. From the captain, as well.

Give Pickford the armband ffs.
He has been terrible this season.

How many times already has a long ball been sent over his head in which he is favored to the ball, he misjudges the spin, bounces over his shoulder, and the winger or striker beat him to the ball?

And mindless and avoidable fouls in the box.

Hope he turns it around and no...Keane has nothing to do with most of his errors so far. Having little confidence in your CB partner has nothing to do with not judging the spin on a long ball or throwing Tonali down in the box.

Not just yesterday, was very lucky to get away with that awful clumsy tackle against Palace too.
Needs dropping. Won’t happen as we don’t have a £20mil defender to replace him with.. oh wait..

*I don’t really want him dropped, I want the real Tarky back.. but something ain’t right.

Got to say I started to worry when I saw he was featuring with his wife in that cringe “married to the game”.
Not what wanted from my hard of nails centre back tbh

Experienced player like him shouldn’t be getting reduced to ragging an opponent all over the box to give away stupid penalties.

LNeeds to get himself sorted as he’s been terrible for most of the season but it doesn’t help that calamity Keane has been alongside him for much of it.

Tbf , Tarks Played so much better alongside branthwaite against palace.

O’Brien should have been coming in alongside Tarks and/or Branthwaite, I don’t care how rough he may be, at least he has a future at the club unlike those coming in ahead of him.
