Easy, it happens all the time, disputes over bonus and loyalty payments for example.

That’s not to say that’s the case here like, it could be any number of minor contractual issues, or a work permit.

I'm no expert but I imagine the transfer contract and player contracts are all interlinked so once signed it would be very difficult to chase the selling club for anything.

I also imagine not uncommon for a selling club to try and save a few bob owed to the player at last minute, gambling that it is too far advanced for everyone to pull out over the odd million quid or so.

Complete conjecture but plausible.

It appears that reports of it being a 'done deal' were premature.The lesson here is not to believe ANYTHING you read in the media.
If it happens, it happens. No amount of fuming or frothing on a forum is going to change the outcome one way or the other.
FWIW I believe he will sign. The window doesn't slam shut for another four weeks. Could be a hell of a lot of twists and turns left in this one.

You dont get lads like James and Allan over for a medical if you've not sorted the terms out. Just the club sorting how to announce for me. In a covid world announcements like these can't be done in a normal way i.e. big presser etc,from what i can see there have been no big reveals from any club this transfer window, just an announcement.

Not really. If hes owed a loyalty bonus and it's contested it will needs to be done before the deal is completed.

Of the 3 who would want to come, I'd say James is most likely too. Doucoure could go to Wolves, Allan could go to Juventus, but James clearly wants to work with Ancelotti.
