Yes he did, with the cash compensation paid up front despite you penniless urchins wanting it to be paid on the never, never.

I really hope Everton don't attempt to go into a "hard ball" battle with Whelan ------------because every man an his dog knows who will come out on top, and it would make you look a bigger financial laughing stock than you already are.

Does someone have a banter-proof all in one suit to sell? I'd be willing to pay eighty bitcoin for it.

I understand that but in the role Martinez (and Fellaini) wants him to play he's not that effective. As a defensive midfielder he doesn't track runners and can't really tackle. In a way he has become similar to Cahill in that he isn't that good in centre mid but further forward he's a nuisance. This begins to affect the way we play though. I'd sooner have a player there that's only job is to break play up and move it on quickly. If we cando this and spend another 12m on an attacking player il be happy.

My main concern all summer was keeping Baines and fingers crossed it looks like that will happen.

Do you not think that maybe Felli is playing the Gibson role because Gibson is currently out injured? Does that really not creep into your mind as a possibility? When Gibson is fit, who plays the Gibson role - Fellaini or Gibson? Honestly....

Fellaini CAN tackle, and is a strong, effective CM (as distinct from a DM). The fact that we have a threadbare squad has forced both Moyes and now Martinez to use him in other positions however, where he can certainly do a job too.

If Gibson had been fit for the last couple of games, Felli would have been playing between him and Barkley, and Osman would have dropped to the bench. Or do you think different?

But that's where I disagree. I fall into the Fellaini as a defensive midfielder camp. And most stats will probably prove how good he actually is.

As for Baines... What's the point in keeping him if we can't score?

I don't think he's clever enough to play it personally. Stats don't show him switching off for me.

We're only just out of August and adopting a new way of playing so I think it's abit unfair to say we can't score. Moyes hasn't had a striker look like scoring in 11 years so I dont expect Martinez to fix it in 3 weeks. Incedentally if Moyes signs Fellaini I would bet on RVPs goals drying up aswel.

This is a prime example of why putting limiters on cars is a waste of time, Del...people are stupid, you can't get around it.

Imagine the fume when Bill and Roberto give that as the reasoning behind selling Baines.

Don't patronise me lad I'm having a discussion. Am I not allowed to rate someone as highly as the Gladwys do? Apart from 6 months at the beginning of last season Iv always thought Fellaini is overrated.

I do think differently by the way, I think it looks quite obvious upto now that Martinez wants to play 2 from deep and one further forward along with the wingers and the centre forward

Moyes won't play him up front at United.

That would be interesting...

Even if he doesn't the style will change, Fellaini is never going to pick someone out over 50 yards or play someone in. The style will become a lot more hustle and bustle and not the united who controlled games under Ferguson

if someone told me last year that next season we would sell fellaini and bring in 4 players from the then current wigan squad i would have laughed at them.

How big of a laughing stock will we be taking their manager and two best players. Whelans clearly took the piss on a grand scale here.

Koff Bill.
