James McCarthy - I'm not impressed

I'm sure people attribute all of our defensive issues on our back 4 when in reality a large part of the problem at the moment is those two!

The back 4 have had a kick up the arse and the same needs to go for the two lads in the middle. You cannot knock off after 45 mins against quality oppo like tonight -Jags would have been well within his rights to have a go at those two in the middle tonight in the second half.

I,d have subbed McCarthy after 65 mins,

McCarthy might not be at his best at the moment, but his performances of last season where absolute quality. So much so, he went from being a potential expensive risk to an absolute bargain. He'll never be amazing on the ball, but he does the hardest job of anyone on a football pitch, running and working without the ball for long periods, and stopping other teams from playing. He'll come good again.........http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail...aaron-hunt-is-tackled-by-news-photo/455670018

Without McCarthy, trust me we would know about it.

He is one of those players who when missing you will see how big he is for the team. 1st midfielder on team sheet

Should be captain

James McCarthy is so badly gash, I wish he had declared for Scotland then I wouldn't have to suffer his disinterested performances at international level too.

Average in the first two games and then terrible against Chelsea and also WBA, I was impressed with literally every other player (Naismith had a quiet game but we all know how well he's been playing otherwise).

McCarthy can't even play well when we play well, what's up with that?

Does anyone else agree or am I on my wn with this??
