Lescott had Jagielka and Yobo centre back who both had great recovery pace so getting forward wasn’t as much of a risk. O’Brien looked a lot better right back with Branthwaite in the team last year and even then he’s clearly more a centre back.

It is frustrating. I’d go as far as to say a proper top right back who’s comfortable going forward is more important than a striker. And that’s saying something.

I agree. We need the right back to be comfortable on the ball and know when to or not to join in attacking play. Without Seamus then Garner is the only choice. Same applies to LB
