2025/26 Jake O'Brien

We'll need a change of manager to see O'Brien in CD. Moyes will persevere AT ALL COSTS with a failing Tarkowski for political reasons.

The looming problem we have here is that Moyes cant put O'Brien back to RB as he's not right for the position; but he wont find a place for O'Brien at CB as he'll be seen as 4th choice for a spot behind Keane, Tarkowski and a returning Branthwaite.

We'll be looking at a now proven CB at international level who'll want first team football and I could easily see O'Brien wanting away next summer.

What are Mr. Moyes’s political reasons, Dave?

Tarkowski as an older and established player with a lot of credibility in the squad would not be someone to leave out the team.

Moyes is old school. He's not too concerned with tactic and strategy. He sees running football teams as a matter of getting reasonably decent footballers in and controlling them. He's a man-manager. not a coach.

Remember Moyes' reputation in his first spell was Dithering Dave...he dithered about not so much if the player he scouted were good enough, but their character. He wanted people he could control.

To be fair Davek most managers are the same as they're dictators at heart

Isn't that the purpose of a manager? To control? Look at Guardiola, he's the epitome of control.

Remember how football is cyclical? It's all dead ball practice and set piece goals? Remember how saf did it no nonsense with Bruce and Pallister?

O'Brien and Branthwaite.

Sound!

Bit dusty in here watching that, my daughter was diagnosed with type 1 only 2 years ago at 14.

Sat in the hospital trying to figure the whole thing out, the nurse said don't worry, when you get home you can still have chocolate and stuff you just have to manage it differently, she said to the nurse " I'm not really bothered about that , will i still be OK to go to Athletics" ?

2 years on and she's represented Ireland at youth level in 1500m in Budapest last summer and it's brilliant to see her loving life.

It's mad the preparation involved, even just for training for somebody with type 1 , you have to eat maybe 90 mins before training, half your insulin dose to keep your blood sugars high enough to get through a session. Some sessions you arrive and can't even start because your sugars are not high enough and you have to just go home. By the time you arrive home an hour later they start rising then you need to train alone, just to bring your sugars back down again.

There's also the constant worry you may have a hypo (sudden blood sugar drop) which will just make you collapse.

O'Briens a warrior performing at the highest level with Type 1, and fair play to him for raising awareness with kids, fellas a proper inspiration.
