If any manager can rehabilitate Patterson it’s Moyes. I’ve not given up on him becoming a good player. I thought he played well under Lampard when given a run of games.

It is mad that despite having a CB at RB, we are still praying for a LB first. Myko is decent at his job, ergo why he was asked to swap last match with O'Brien.

Maybe its because Myko is fairly average at what he does, he works hard no doubt but we need more imo and Moyes seems to want do the 3 CB thing atm. Under Dyche we had Young at RB and to be fair to him he was one of our better players in the first half of the season. We will have to see in the summer what happens tbh.

Its taken him an awful long time to get that assist though, I do think he would make great backup for a slightly better player.

He's done brilliantly but he will always look like a CB playing at fullback, especially with his stature.

Recent performances aside, new fullbacks would be absolutely top of my shopping list this summer, along with wingers who can actually score and assist to replace Harrison and Lindstrom. Our flanks need a complete overhaul.

Same but it'd admittedly be a bit mad to remove JOB from the first team given his impressive run of recent form. It'd be good to have both in the side and doing well, they offer different things altogether.

Myko has more potential than what we currently credit him for, the 3CB model is temporarily at least for Moyes unless he bloods in some very good ball winning midfielders. He is only using what is available to him. He always prefers a wingback in those positions. Young was overhyped for his role in the team, he was a no nonsense wingback but that meant his in possession actions were very poor. Mind you, even Lindstrom is poor in possession. In that sense, playing Coleman as RM or RWB will help O'Brien's game.

Let us not kid ourselves, O'Brien has his share of shortcomings in such a role. He was shown up many a time in the match against brentford. Lindstrom is having to play dual RAM and RWB role to cover for having a CB at RB. Whenever Patterson has been fit, he has been used in the last 10mins in an advanced RWB role. Coleman is better at that role and can contribute to the attack much better than most others. I agree that he is facing fitness issues, but if he is fit, he needs to feature more. At least more than Young currently features.

O'Brien isn't a right back by any stretch, that's plainly obvious. But he's doing a job there and I don't think having Coleman sitting 2 yards in front of him is going to improve him in any way, shape or form for 5/10 minute spells here and there.

He'll progress by playing and what he does on the training pitch. That first half against Brentford is just a typical game where a centre half playing full back struggles.

Nope, how he is on the ball is how he's been for 3 years and I'd be shocked if he somehow massively improves his game where he suddenly has

A) awareness of what's around him
B) composure when receiving the ball
C) the quality to really be a threat going forward

Solid definitely 99% of the time but absolutely woeful with the ball at his feet and up there with Doucore with a dreadful lack of ability to do the most basic of things well.

100% convinced he'll be the first to be replaced by Moyes this summer.
