I hope we get to the stage where someone being gay isn't even seen as a big deal anymore and just seen as a regular part of life

I was at the Peterborough v Newcastle game when Justin Fashanu played. The abuse he suffered that night was appalling. Our kids were 11 and 9 at the time and we were sitting in the family stand, the comments coming from parents there with their children were unbelievable. I was so angry I complained to the steward to be met with a shrug and “well what do you expect”. I wish Jake all the best and applaud him for his courage and hope people can focus on his football not his sexuality.
