Jags Still Captain?

Just read that Carrick appointed Captain in the wake of Rooneys departure, he is their longest serving player. Does Rooney become captain for you or stick with Jags?

Was he ever really, he had the armband, tossed the coin, etc but - Capt. is as Capt. does.

We cannot be having Phil Jagielka trying to tell players like Rooney and Klaassen, who have captained massive clubs, what to do.

Yea, I thought Carrick was an odd choice, but he probably got it on seniority.
As it stands, unless we sign another centre half and Jags leaves, then he'll probably remain as captain though.

don't think we should strip jagielka of captaincy, no reason to, he should remain club captain (mostly influencing the dressing room/off the pitch), but in the actual games themselves i think the armband should go to coleman first, followed by one of williams or schneiderlin. don't like rooney getting it in his first season back.

I think if not Jags, they would choose Baines.

Match day captains should be people who are going to be involved in matches mate

I meant if he were playing he would be an option. There'd be plenty others who would play regularly and be suitable until Coleman is back.

Just as long as it's not Jags anymore. He's been a great player for the club but to me he's never been a good captain. He's not a natural leader and has never been vocal enough. I think Rooney is the most likely candidate to take over.

Could just be poor reporting, but they call Baines the team captain in this. (also mispronounce all the players names wrong haha)
