Phil Jagielka makes his long-awaited return to action on Tuesday.

The Everton defender hasn't played since damaging cruciate ligaments in his left knee against Manchester City last April but he is in the starting line-up for the reserves tomorrow evening.

The Toffees play Bolton Wanderers at the Halton Stadium, Widnes (kick-off 7pm) and Jags will be at the heart of the defence alongside Shane Duffy.

Andy Holden has selected a strong team for the match with every player having sampled senior first-team football.

Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan are partnered in attack, Seamus Coleman is included and so are Jose Baxter and James Wallace.

Jags & Heitinga will be an awesome CD pairing, as good as anyone's, and Distin & Senderos to provide cover and competition. This is one area of the pitch we are sorted. can probably even afford to offload Yobo.
