Jag's is nearer

Can i ask why mate? It's just i think Jags is the much better centre-half. I rated Lescott highly at us, but he was only the player he was because Jags was alongside him in my opinion.

Well for many reasons really - overall i think he is a better all round footballer then Jags - more intellegent player - pace - consistent over seasons - versatile - goal socring threat - he had that uncanny ability all good centre halfs have of seemsing to be in the place where the ball lands, positional sense and what not.

I acknowledge Jags was better last season. Still think Lescott is the better player in terms of quality and all around game - i think much of that talent will go to waste at City - Lescott always struck me as the type of player, who needed a foot in the ass every so often as he was to laid back. From what ive seen of him at City and the fact he doesnt seem to be able head a beach ball this season, he wont get that there - shame he was a very good player.

To say Lescott is a better Defender than jags is a pile of [Poor language removed].....

Yes, he was better going forward and Yes he'd score more goals. But i want my defenders to defend first an formost.

Id have jags any day over putty head.

Some of this i agree with, he is more of a goal threat that Jags, i'll admit, but as for being more intelligent, i strongly disagree. Lescott made up for his errors by using he pace, wereas Jags made very few errors mainly because of his excellent positional sense and defensive ability. Lescott was versatile, yes, but in Baines we now have an outstanding left back, again in my opinion.

Jags is just as consistent, if not more than Lescott. And i have never EVER seen someone make Torres look as average as Jags did when we beat them in the cup last year.

Jagielka is a ******* monster, he has everything a defender needs. Hes our best defender. I cant wait till he is back

It's still well within reach, it would have been even closer if we have taken 3 points off Stoke instead of one, but we got a pretty easy matches coming up before facing Villa and other Top4-5 team in the league at the moment.

Providing we get lot of win and 3 points off our opponent upto the Man Utd match, I think we would be alot closer to 4th place team than you think?

I always think were close to top 4. But it only takes one injury with our squad to drop a couple of vital points.

If we beat Arsenal last year when they scored that late equalizer. I think we would of finished 4th

I hope one day in pub quizzes they have a question 'who scored the winning penalty that beat Manchester United and put everton into the FA cup final (2009) '

I will have probably forgotten by 2am on New Years Day.

Against which team did Manchester United lose their only domestic semi-final under Sir Alex Ferguson? (y) :D

I'm sure they did lose a semi-final at some point under Ferguson since his arrival from Pittodrie in 1986, I'm being serious, there must have been a fall at a last hurdle somewhere, I thought straight away it was in 2004, but they beat Arsenal when I thought it was the other way round.

But, it escapes me now, but I'll agree for now that we were the first team to beat the Red nosed Govan one at a semi-final stage.

Domestic of course, and not bad at all if I do say so.

Must be that before 2009 he never lost a FA Cup semi-final

I wish you hadn't mentioned 2005.

That year will only live in the memory for one hideous reason. :dodgy:
