They were debating on Sky about Jack last night.
Since he left us, he's played only 50 odd Prem games in the 6 years.

Got to be more to all this, that's not all down to injury.

I always thought the lad had all the attributes to be a good centre half, apart from one important ingredient, mental desire/will to succeed. Too keen to take the easy option, shame really. 100% swerve.

I always thought he was very overrated and I don't recall many people being too concerned when Man City splashed the cash out on him.

Sunderland gave him the contract and were happy to do so at the time. He walks away he'll lose 7 million - and no matter how much you WANT to play (which I doubt) who walks away from 7 mill, even if you have 25 mill in the bank.

Or got to Preston and earn 10K per week and play? I'd take the money every time.

I doubt they have that much put away tbh, no matter how much you earn you always push the envelope of what you can afford. He probably still has a mortgage on a 5/7 million pound house and this is more the reason why he won't leave what he is getting now.

You wonder if he’s a bit delusional rather than confident. He’s been binned off by arguably the worst team in the country during his spell*, there’s talk of Preston North End, and he’s chatting more England caps.

I get that he can’t just give up on £70k a week. Not many woukd. But “I’m willing to do anything to play regular football” - except the one thing you can do?

*in relative terms, obviously

Anyone remember him having a single good game or doing anything of note (aside from that dodgy red card)? Nope, me neither.
