He just clarified that on a Twitter space. He was meant to quote his own tweet and add the latest but was having issues with Twitter on his phone and it just retweeted his old tweet without the update

That would be more believable if the wording was exactly the same but it wasn’t he’d changed it from saying we were missing out to saying we were still hoping to sign him he was clearly just wrong and pretending it was a retweet makes it worse he should have just admitted it.
