Well I’ve seen great passes from one yard to over twenty yards, not always necessarily creating a goal but taking two or three men out of the game, sometimes giving them clear chances, but you’ve seen the goal we are discussing and that pass never left Garner with anything like a clear chance, it’s not the length of the pass but where it leaves the scorer with a good chance of putting the ball in the net.

So a two yard pass twenty yards from goal with a few defenders in between Garner and the goal is an assist—- not to me mate ! I don’t think it’s any type of science!

Probably just about as long as the whole ball hadn’t crossed the line and (and it’s a big and) you don’t mean the player is standing on the goal as in balancing on the bar.

You asked me a question I answered it, never changed anything never mind whatever your calling parameters.

You can make a great pass over one yard that leaves his teammate with a good chance of scoring, the pass Grealish made to Garner from two yards never left him with a clear chance of scoring, it was Garners initiative in having a quick hard shot, from twenty yards, at the goal with defenders between Garner and the goalkeeper that clinched the goal.
