I hate the way the BBC have to talk about England every half time...tbh couldn't careless if England had a training session, talk about the game in process.
Lowro finally said something funny the other night. They told Fred to warm up he's coming off. Thought that was really funny

ITV are jinxed for England we have only won just over at third of the games they have shown, as agaist over 50% England wins on BBC, so if we lose tonight its quite clearly there fault,

even i will agree that the BBC have come up tops in the pundits this tournament. I just dont care about anyone ITV have, but actually interested in the likes of Henry / Seedorf / Ferninand as they offer actual opinions on things.
I cant stand Henry's delivery. He has that "look, you have to understand" patronising tone about him. Ferdinand is a divvy like, but the way he talks to him is a prime example of the "yooo Eeeenglish are not sopheeesticated enoff to appreciate what goes on out zer" mentality. He's defo the least likeable pundit on show.

I have an unreasonable love for Gordon Strachan

He's the grumpy sarcastic sod I long to one day be

He's great as a pundit and really knows his stuff. Always like him when he's on, because he isn't afraid to speak his mind.

Just a little story about him from his time at Southampton. My Aunty used to own a coffee shop down there just outside of Southampton in Hythe. One morning all these kids were standing at the window watching this little bloke eat his breakfast. They kept coming in to bother him, so she asked them to leave him alone while he was eating, so he could finish in peace. Strachan was good about it and said it was ok, but she insisted and there were other people in there, so he told the kids to wait outside until he had finished and he would come and see them. When he went to pay he thanked my Aunty for her help. She apologised and said she didn't know he was, but he must be someone famous. She does a lot of work for charity (raises loads of money for Cancer research especially) and asked if he would mind signing an autograph that she could use as a prize, as they had fundraisers coming up soon.

He explained he was Gordon Strachan, manager of Southampton and he doesn't mind the kids etc. because he'll be more worried when they're not asking for autographs and the older men are shouting abuse at him, because that means he wouldn't be doing a very good job. He signed an autograph for her and went outside to spend time with the kids that were there. She didn't think much of it, but the next day she got a delivery to the shop of a load of Southampton stuff signed by him and the team etc. and a note from Strachan thanking her for the breakfast and her charity work, saying he hopes she put the merchandise to good use. Nice of him to go the extra step, as he didn't have to.

Can see the difference in opinion on them mate sure.

I just like listening to players who can back up their words. Fairs fair, Henry was world class so he can criticize strikers all day long if they are not playing well. Shearer on the other hand doesn't say anything out of the ordinary about them. Just makes a slight change to the MOTD punditry.

Danny murphy last night was good as well i thought. Seemed like he was watching the game and not just reporting it.

Well the other day before the Brazil match Shearer highlighted how poor Fred was (and was subsequently proved right) and Henry claimed he'd had a good first game. It was then pointed out to Henry that Fred only touched the ball 7 times in the first half and 2 of those touches were from the kick off, Henry in his arrogant manner shrugged but had no come back.

Just because he's got a foreign accent and was a world class player it doesn't make him a good pundit by default.

Cracked me up last night, the sombre mournful tone of the post-match analysis was as if England had just been knocked out. No-one gives a toss about Spain and judging by twitter everyone was delighted to see the back of them. The BBC need to stop being so reverent to the established order.

Henry: he picked up on one or two things most wouldn't appreciate at first, but Lordy doesn't he love the mantle of continental connoisseur? The self reverential hushed delivery and rolling his eyes at the crudities of Ferdinand.

Murphy: he's been good. I cant ever though get past that title run in showing when his eyes glazed over to pronounce that Liverpool 'are fated to win it...for the 96'.

Yep. Henry's line 'ahh yes, he does not score, but look at his movement to create space for others' was a ludicrous defence of a striker in piss poor form.

The BBC pundits are too nice, they need someone like a Strachan to call him on that crap. Instead of Robbie 'why am I here' Savage on the end trying to be included.

I was all ready to slate Danny Murphy last night but he wasn't too bad in the end... but yeah, that is epic tosspottery.

You'd think Lineker would. He would have a few years ago too. He's settled for being the schmoozey presenter now though.

Murphy and Keown that night were creepy as [Poor language removed]. Determined to shut down any belief that a team other than Liverpool should win the title. They brought themselves and MOTD into disrepute. Mind you, they weren't alone in doing that in the shameful last month or so of the season just gone.
