Last one for tonight, I won't be giving an answer to this for a day or so, you just have to make your own minds up.

Pay attention.

Two men are seated at a table.

Neither has spoken for one and a half hours.

There is no-one else in the room.

Suddenly, one of them shouts with glee and leaps up before collapsing with an agonized yell.

What has just happened?

now I've got ya. b)

chess answer good, but i agree with heatmeiser, the collapse in agony bit does not work.

how about they are rival fans watching a match in silence and one of their teams suddenly scores.... then this happens at the other end...

Doesn't explain the 'collapsing in an agonised yell' bit.

How about 'They are playing chess when one player achieves checkmate and leaps up excitedly. Unfortunately cramp sets in due to him being sat on his arse for the last 90 minutes, resulting in an 'agonised yell'.

This Heatmaster could be the Mastermind of Knotty Ash, that's almost as good as the answer.

Here it is.

"The two men were intent on a game of chess. Having finally achieved check-mate, one of them leapt to his feet in glee, only to discover that his leg had gone completely dead whilst he was playing."

surprised someone got it actually.

I cant; watch the video presented, as it's all stop start and would take six minutes to view, not 30 seconds. :@

I have other lateral thinking puzzles to try out on people, "a third division club goes to a premiership club in a cup competition and remains balanced for 83 minutes, explain"

things like that.
