
Can Brits name those states? Here's a representative effort. Some of these are surprisingly good, and most are funny in one way or another.
Fahct. In a previous life, I was tasked with teaching two sections of US History to bored eleventh graders. It went with the band job. I passed a blank outline of the states to the entire class on day one, and required each student to fill it out daily until they got all 50 states correct. Most got it in a day or two. Some took weeks. (cue Spicoli's reaction to Mr. Hand) Love the deep/deeper South labeling to describe Georgia on the above. You have no idea how true that is. Do you have to do this for the various counties or whatever of the UK while you're in school, by any chance?
I'd hate to see what I'd come up with if I had to distinguish Derby County from this or that shire, so this is just for entertainment purposes - we have a set of representative efforts by your fellow countrymen/women. I'm pleased that almost everyone got Florida right, being a native and current resident. That said, here's the source of the charts:
