Distin has genuinely provided us with some epic performances. He thus has a lot of credit in the bank.

Well you're right in that it's not Neville who picks the team, I've said it before, you can't blame him for playing if he's offered to, just like if you were in a job that you knew yourself you were past doing but your boss kept paying you over the top wages to stay on. He still could keep his trap shut if he knows how bad he is though.
