It was on this day in 1978 when Andy King scored that screamer in the park end against Liverpool. For those who attended, what are your memories of the day and the game itself?

At half time they had a police dog show and a dog jumped through a ring of fire. Then some guy knocked over the the ring and it burnt a bit if the pitch by the half way line and the burn was there for ages.

I was a wee sprog in the street end at my very first derby. I had a great view of the goal and it went manic when it went in. Loved it.

I was in the Paddock with my dad, it was such a great moment & day, AK was a hero of mine.
I could barely look at the rest of the game as was terrified they would equalise, buried my head in dad's coat, hard to believe it was so long ago.
Wish we'd have won more derbies in my time!

I was there with a few mates who I still see today, we we’re in the upper Gwladys street before that, we met in town in the carnarvon castle pub armed with the morning papers and ripped them up into ticker tape, so when the blues ran out we dropped our bags all over the edge onto the lads below copying what happened at the Argentina World Cup, I was actually on motd highlights later that night as I ran up back to our seats great memories and a great day as our king scored the winner.

Apart from the cracking goal and the result which were great, the most memorable thing on the day was watching the interviews on the telly later and the over officious plod telling Andy King and the interviewer to “Get off the pitch, get off the pitch!”.

always be a special day this , as much as anything because he was a special man .

Andy wasn’t just our King , he was a one off /unique , he was class and his personality was infectious.

RIP

Incredible day, still my favourite ever Everton game even above the title clinchers,FA Cup Finals,European success, even the Bayern game and all the last day relegation dramas,I was in line with Kingy in the Lower Bullens when he “drove one”,it had been two months to the day that I’d lost my Grandad(a red)and I remember thinking that one is for you Grandad😂it had been seven years since we had turned them over and I honestly cannot recall an Everton crowd as loud as that day, there is footage of the Street End just after we scored bouncing like massed ranks of Shi-ite fundamentalists😂I gave the kopites hell in school on the Monday,I’d earned it after all I had previously gone through, where’s Kings Drive?in the back of Clemence net😂RIP Kingy and Thank you💙
