Player Valuation: £60m
Listening to Martinez and Graeme Jones about the squad for next season, the quality of the players available etc. I have noticed more than once that they mention how they hope to play attractive football next season and hope they have to get players to adapt to the brand of football they want.
I cannot help but feel there is a little sly dig at the football that we have been playing in recent years...correctly.

Certainly came across in that way in Victor's interview I think.

Always thought the players respected Moyes through and through but probably weren't too friendly with him nor chuffed with the style of play he usually went for, we always had great little runs of playing amazing football but reverted to type far too often for me, the start of this season being a prime example.

PUT YO HANDS UP IN THE MOTHERF*CKING AIR YO!

I don't think it's a coincidence that players like Baines and Vic are the ones talking about looking forward to a new style of play.

Players like Jagielka on the hand, I would think probably preferred Moyes' style. Jagielka is a quality centre back, but I think the reason he often seems world class for us is because Moyes' system suited his game.

yeah even think it may be a response to what he has been told by players, I think Moyes qualities have stabilised the club but his supposed ability to adapt to any situation had become about protecting himself from criticism outside the club and players were being stifled, some almost certainly must be feeling like they weren't trusted. can't see anyone other than the obvious candidates queuing up to join him at Man U. could be scary but I really think Martinez maybe the right man at the right time

I'd still say Jagielka's game will stay as it is. Do what he does best and continue to be one of the best defenders in the country. Moyes tactics probably did suit the likes of Jags, Gibson, Fellaini, Distin. Stay strong in defence and midfield, it was the final 3 rd that could be a little problem sometimes but the attacking formation will come and progress individual players like Mirallas, Jelavic, Anichebe, Barkley

Must admit I thought there was a slight dig at our current / old style of play. The thing I am looking forward to most is a blend of both styles hopefully coming together! There I said it, I'm posative about this season and Roberto getting soak....

We played the best football in at least 10 years at times last season though?

At times yeah, Saints at home along with Swansea and Aston Villa away were absolutely ace to watch.

We reverted to tw*tting it long and conceding ****e last minute goals not too long after though, puzzling.

Still think that 3 game period in 2009-10 where we saw off Chelsea, Utd and Lisbon at home was the best under Moyes though, that was a f*cking boss month.

yeah which made it more annoying that we went back into our shells as soon as a couple of things didn't go our way. it showed what this squad can do, not really what Moyes instincts were

Don't think it's Martinez style to have a dig tbh (him and Moyes are mates used to have dinner with Fergie and Allardyce in Manchester). Think he just understands he'll be changing things and no-one knows if the players will cope - reckon it's just a straight comment on where we are.
