Is the Premier League proper terrible?

I've just been reading through some articles and I read something that clarified a feeling I've had in my mind for a while.

Man Utd have just won the EPL title at a canter with a side that included Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Rafael, Jonny Evans etc. etc. basically players that you could reasonably sub-par from what you'd usually expect from an elite side. None of them would get near the Barca/Real Madrid/Juventus/Dortmund/Bayern sides IMO.

So with that in mind, is the Premier League weak and overhyped?

Over hyped defo, and weaker ATM to Germany & Spain. The barometer I always use is simple; how many PL teams would I bother going to watch if Bristol City drew them in a home cup match. And the current list is very small.

Best league in the world in my opinion may not be as technically good as other leagues but great to watch

The MLS is better.

On a competitive level, this is bang on. Talent wise individually? Not so much.

It's alright like and there's some boss players but that United side shouldn't have won a f*cking thing last year. How City and Chelsea balls it up so badly, I've no idea.

Well actually, it was because they both had pyar knobheads as manager.

I don't think our top teams are on a par with the top teams from other European leagues, but I think our league has more teams of a similar ability. Any team can beat anyone, with the possible exception of the bottom 4/5, but even they spring a surprise from time to time.

The premier league has a much bigger talent depth out side the top 4 than the other European leagues.
It's also more competitive than la Liga,Bundesliga etc.

It's easy too say that as a man u fan.

The fact that there is no chance of anyone bar three mega rich teams every winning the league, puts me off it. It drives me mad that I have no realistic hopes of everton winning the league and nor do the fans of anyone bar the top 3 teams and they haven't for about a decade.

It wasn't that along go a team could get promoted and compete for the title the next year. That to me makes a good league to be a fan of.

You could say the same about every single league in Europe though now, some are even less competitive than the pl..

it's more competitive than the bundesliga? the same league that's had 4 different winners in the last 6 years, and five different runner ups in the same time frame?

Tom Cleverley is decent.

How game games did they all play?

Also, sure 99% of them are regular internationals too.

FWIW

Bayern won the treble with players like Van Buyten, Boatang, Contento and Rafina. I wouldn't take any of them over a back four of Baines, Distin, Jags and Coleman. Perhaps you are underrating the United players or it's the other players. Just a thought like.

I wouldn't say it was proper terrible.

If we say it's terrible, how does it make us feel that we didn't win it last year?

It might not be up to the standards of previous years but then is the Spanish league strong, or is it simply a sunnier version of the SPL with Barca and RM, and then some also rans? Not too long ago Chelsea were European champions, and also won the Uefa cup this year. That's not too shabby for a league that's weaker than usual.

bar Contento, all the rest are better than the Everton players listed. Dont kid yourself mate.

Not really sure why you listed Bayerns RESERVE back 4?
