Is Moyes Blind...??????

I do not think it is quite correct to say it is a whingeing post!. Sharpy is expressing his extreme dissappointment of an awful display and the apparent inability of the manager to see things and make changes.

Fair point, I chose the wrong word, didn't mean it to sound like I was having a pop

On a seperate note - having everyone back from corners drives me crazy. Leave one up top and then theres an outlet and they take two back....

It really is common sense.

Agreed, having 11 men defending the corner encourages the opponents to stick 7 or 8 players in the box to attack it. Leaving at least 1 up means they have to keep at least 2 on the half way line & then a few more not far ahead in case we break quickly.

Another thing that confuses me is when Yakubu stands near the opponents keeper as he's booting it out of his hands when there's no1 else near them. Can anyone tell me what else that does apart from leaving Yakubu in an offside position if we win the header or 2nd ball? If he went back & kept level the defence when they pushed out, when we got it forward he could be part of an attack but instead he can't go near the ball because he's miles offside.

Are there any keepers here? I'd love to know why it's done. Is it an attempt to psyche out the keeper? Is it to make sure he definately kicks it out of his hands instead of putting it on the deck & booting it which most keepers prefer to do? I just don't understand why it's done. It's not just Yakubu either, Beattie used to do it to

I think Mpyes really does take what supporters say to heart, remember we were beaten by Spurs at home with a late goal a couple of seasons back when we were going for Europe, he got a lot of heat from all anges of the fan base about playing 4-5-1. He subsequently payed 4-5-2 for much of the rest of the season.

If it's the Spurs game I'm thinking of (pretty sure it is) it's because we were drawing at home late in the game, he had Vaughan warmed up & ready to come on & brought Naysmith on instead. I've never in all my life witnessed a reaction to a substitution like it, the entire ground booed it because it was a terrible decision & 1 I still can't understand now. They then scored & he brought Vaughan on as a token gesture right at the death when it was far too late to win

Bit of both, forces the keeper to do a proper kick out as you say, but mainly it puts pressure on him to not mess it up, because if he does the striker's there to pounce. You do quite often see keepers accidentally nail it into touch for exactly that reason. Any little psychological advantage, might as well do it. Also an excuse to not run around, which let's face it, lots of strikers don't particularly like doing.

Worst of all, he's overpaid! Anyone can remember when was the last time we played a good game of football? Certainly not this season. This club is screwing up from top to bottom and a lot of people are to be blame for it.
