Is it my self esteem?

Life is all about compromise. No relationship is perfect. It's a cliche, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I left my not-so-bad 2nd wife for someone who I thought was the perfect fit (she looked like Sarah-Lou off Corrie) but she ended up aborting my kid without telling me and stealing thousands of Pounds off me etc.

If your relationship is just about bearable, persist with it.
 

Sounds to me like your an attention seeking, selfish, me me me, type child.
The older women usually have baggage, so do men. If you get with this woman then you need to understand that the child comes too.

As for the holiday on her own part ? Sometimes its good to just go out with friends where you have no responsibility, but if you can find a babysitter for the week then im sure you and the missus can go away together without said child.

Great post. Expecting people to change is probably not a recipe for a successful relationship. Expecting them to commit to the relationship however is a reasonable request. Talking together (either with a relationship counsellor or just yourselves) about what each of you want from the relationship would be vital in it succeeding or not.

Love makes you blind to these things. Noticing them means you ain't in love. Sounds like you want to hear someone tell you to move on, but can't think of a way go do it.
